Dash became available on Bitplaza

Bitplaza, a convenient service whose users can make purchases for cryptocurrency, has officially added Dash to its platform. It is now possible to pay for purchases in DigitalCash.

Along with the growth in the number of DigitalCash users, the Dash blockchain itself will develop.

DigitalCash in the top of payroll altcoins

The adoption of cryptocurrency continues to gain momentum, as more and more people are realizing its benefits every day. Evidence of this positive trend can be found in many areas, including hiring reports.

According to the Global Hiring Report, the number of people receiving all or part of their paychecks in cryptocurrency has grown 10% each month since November 2020. Bitcoin (63%) is still leading as the way of payment of wages, but the share of altcoins continues to grow. The leading places among alternative coins are taken by ETH and USDC, followed by Dash with 2% of all payroll cryptocurrency payments!

52% of people paid in cryptocurrency reside in Latin America. This trend is consistent with the overall growth of cryptocurrency adoption in Latin America that the Dash Core Group (DCG) observed during the promotion of Dash in the region.

Dash, Venezuela and hyperinflation

Dash shake hand with Venezuela

Last year was a great year for cryptocurrency, and it was especially noticeable in some countries, such as Venezuela. People in that country had to face the consequences of hyperinflation and the depreciation of the national currency: the Venezuelan bolivar.

People in Venezuela have come to use cryptocurrencies such as Dash to counter hyperinflation. The growth of peer-to-peer payments within the country eventually led to an overall increase in cryptocurrency adoption.

Dash is proud to have played a key role in cryptocurrency adaptation in Venezuela. Research shows that Dash is the most used cryptocurrency in Venezuela.

DCG Technical Support celebrates its fifth anniversary

Dash Core Group’s tech support service recently celebrated its fifth anniversary! Working solely on the enthusiasm of two people, this small team quickly and efficiently solves problems of clients and ordinary users. By this moment more than 15000 tickets have been successfully closed, and the Support Service will continue to keep the brand.

DMT functionality

DCG continues to work on all fronts. Backports continue at a slower pace, as the v.0.18 backports are nearing completion. At the same time, other team members have also been working on quorum rotation, testing and debugging this feature on the developer network (DevNet).

Also recently added support for P2SH payments from the budget. In addition, adjusted the version of the developer network and made changes to autotune difficulty to minimize the number of conflicts with frequent updates to the developer networks. Also, the team is now deciding what part of the functionality of the tool for working with masternodes (Dash Masternode Tool) should be added directly to the Core wallet.

Platform v0.22

Dash evolution

The Platform Protocol team, along with the Storage team, has been busy integrating the new cryptographic proof-of-concept storage (GroveDB) into the DigitalCash Platform system almost all the time. A number of tests and quality control showed that there are numerous minor performance and optimization tasks that need to be solved in Platform Drive and GroveDB. And this should be done before creating a version to run on the test network, to maintain in the release of Platform v0.22 appropriate level of performance. In addition, important work was done on the technical design of the commission system. This epic functionality will be introduced in the next major release, v0.23.

The Platform SDK team continues to work on the SPV for the wallet library. This significant project is nearing completion. We are also introducing some new mechanisms to improve the quality of the browser version, along with other improvements and fixes that have been discussed in the developer community.

The Tenderdash team focused mainly on aligning the base code of our project with the Tendermint code. In addition, small but important changes were made.
